As the city of Austin continues to experience historic growth, operating and living costs rise, putting stress on the creatives who have kept Austin weird. The City of Austin's Music and Entertainment Division seeks to improve and support the local community of musicians and creatives to increase revenue for the local music industry and hold true to the title of the "Live Music Capital of the World."
Forge Music Collective is a coworking space meant to elevate the Austin music industry to a higher professional level locally and nationally by providing a space that fosters collaboration, creativity, and productivity. Group spaces for work and play enable connections within the community, while quite spaces allow for focus and rejuvenation. Members can rent open coworking access, a reserved desk, or a private office depending on their needs. During working hours, adjustable height workstations and a variety of seating options accommodate all working styles. Breakout booths, reservable meeting rooms, and a media screening room offer opportunities for brainstorming and presentations. The wooden pavilion houses a large conference room which can be completely opened up to provide a stage for showcasing artists to industry professionals. The dining room features a well-equipped kitchen and a planter wall of herbs and vegetables to encourage members to bring and prepare healthier, homemade meals to enjoy together beneath the cymbal chandelier.
